What we publish
LitBuy US publishes hands-on reviews, comparison tables, buying guides and measurement notes about residential lighting. Our testing team orders every product we score. We do not accept free samples from makers for scored reviews, and we do not run sponsored reviews. If a brand sends an unsolicited unit, we either return it or label the resulting coverage clearly as a first-look with no score.
Sourcing and accuracy
Every measurement in a review comes from our own bench in Portland. When we cite a manufacturer specification, we name it as a specification and say whether our bench matched it. When we quote energy codes, standards or regulatory documents, we link the source in the review's source list and read the current version, not a summary of it.
Pricing is the price we paid at the time of order, with the order date printed next to it. We do not adjust old prices to today's market, because a review should show what the product cost when we judged it.
Independence of judgment
Advertising and affiliate revenue pay for the bench, the instruments and the editors' time. They do not enter the scoring conversation. Editors who negotiate commercial placements do not write or score reviews, and no maker sees a review before publication.
Authorship
Every article names the editor who wrote it and the editor who verified the measurements. Author pages on this site list each editor's background, published credentials and testing responsibilities. Anonymous bylines are not used.
Updates
When a review changes, we add a dated change note at the top of the page describing what changed and why. Old scores are not quietly deleted; they are marked as superseded with the date.
